Use of Dacromate as a substitute for powder coating
2007
I have swimming pool fencing manufactured for me using 8 mm steel round bar. The steel is Zinc treated and then powder coated.
It has been suggested that I consider using Dacromate as an alternative.
However, I cannot seem to find any technical information regarding this process.
Can anyone tell me more about this process vs powder coating?

Please ask whoever made the suggestion to be a bit more exacting and explicit, Hendrik. You may be referring to Dacromet -- which is a dip-spin application of zinc from a paint-like form -- or possibly dichromate (which usually follows zinc plating and precedes powder coating. But I do not think that any zinc thickness short of that offered by galvanizing would be a satisfactory substitute for powder coating.
