Copper plating

Hi

I need to know how to do some electroplating with copper sulphate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . I have a metal key which I would like to plate. last time I used powder copper sulphate and water to make it a solution and used a strip of coper and a key tied to the - of the batty and the + to the copper strip but it was not good it was rough and like rusted can you help ps. my English is not too good I am srilankan I am in grade 9

Get help from the science teacher with adding a little bit of sulfuric acid to reduce the pH. Then you must plate

much slower by using a lower voltage battery. 3 volts maximum -- 1-1/2 volts would be better. Good luck.
