Home built nickel plating system and required items

Hello,

This is Brian Griffin and we make a variety if items, including objects made of metal.

We would like to start nickel plating many of these items. I have looked at the kits, but have not found one that would fill all our needs. So I am now looking into making a plating system from scratch. We understand the basics and have striped nickel from items using muriatic acid, reverse polarity etc.
So now I need some advise on how to build this...and a shopping list.

Thank you,

Brian Griffin

The Electroplating Engineering Handbook [on AbeBooks or eBay or Amazon affil links] is the closest thing you will find to what you are looking for, Brian. But please recognize that electroplating, probably unlike your industry, is a categorically regulated one and you cannot install or operate a nickel plating system without a host of permits. I'm not talking building permits, but air quality permits, wastewater discharge permits, hazardous waste accumulation permits, hazwoper certification, etc. Subscribing to one of the journals like Metal Finishing, Plating & Surface Finishing, or "Products Finishing", and joining the National Association of Surface Finishers will get you acquainted with the applicable laws. Good luck!
