I'm in search of zinc ceiling panels

2007

I recently purchased a historical building in Yreka CA. The building was originally constructed in 1856. A fire partially destroyed the building in 1870. During the reconstruction of the building in 1871, a zinc panel ceiling was installed. With paint on the ceiling panels it looks much like a tin ceiling with floral patterns and various complimentary designs. However, when the paint is removed it's amazing to see with the bluing color (purple, grey irridescent look) like the shine of a shotgun barrel. Anyway, two light wells were put in the building in the 50's and the cut out zinc panels are no where to be found. The cut out portions are 14 feet by 5 feet (2 cut out areas) The ceiling is 100 feet by 23 feet. My plan is to bead blast the paint from the zinc panels and bring the ceiling back to it's former luster.

I'm looking for a source for zinc ceiling panels. The pattern is not real important but the size of 24" by 24" would be helpful. Even if I have to make another size work I'm willing to consider that. Does anyone have a source for zinc ceiling panels?

I think that you can cast it in plastic(glass fibre+polyester, use silicone moulds).Hope it helps and good luck!
