Reverse electroplating problem

Hi,I am an avid railway memorabilia collector who has recently become the new owner of 20 pieces of various electroplated railway silver. My problem is that at some point in time these pieces of silver have been re-electroplated and the old railway logos are no longer visible. I was wondering if it is possible to remove one layer of electroplate while leaving the original layer underneath unharmed. These pieces consist of teapots, creamers, vases etc. I purchased them in Ontario,Canada and believe they originated from the Minaki Inn which was a Grand Trunk railway hotel in North western Ontario.
Thanks

I don't think this is very promising since there is no good way to selectively remove an unwanted silver layer from a wanted silver layer. If they are important to you, locate a metal conservator for advice, Paul.
