What is the type of treatment recommended for electro-galvanizing surface before powder coating?
We have electro-galvanized components to be powder coated. What is the proper treatment that we have to apply? And under what conditions?
Please advice

The term "electro-galvanized" is one that can mean several different coating system. Assuming that maybe yuo mean electroplated zinc, then either a phosphate or chromate conversion coating would be appropriate traditional systems. Increasingly though manganese or silane based systems are proving popular and deliver the adhesion required.

Zinc phosphate is the best but there are many others. My employer has four that we use on a ongoing basis depending on customer requirements. Our cadillac is zinc phosphate, also a chrome based one is used, a non chrome one and a cobalt complex which is the most popular.

I have a good result with zirconium phosphate, which is easy to use and it does not produce waste.
