Anodize in Wet Sulfur Dioxide Environment

Due to an inability to get a stainless steel turbine wheel manufactured in time, a customer from the oil & gas industry asked about using an in-stock cast aluminum wheel and anodizing it. The catch is that its exposed to sulfuric dioxide gas with moisture present which will lead to sulfurous and sulfuric acid formation. I'm reluctant to recommend it due to the fact that it's a casting and regardless of the seal, the corrosion rate will be appreciable. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed...

First of two simultaneous responses --

You are correct. Poor life expectancy. It will probably go out of balance before it self destructs. Anodize and a thin teflon or other fluoropolymer might be a suitable short term substitute.

Second of two simultaneous responses --

How about PPG's Kold Kat, cold tar epoxy ?
