Material of construction for chromate conversion coating tanks




Q. Dear sir,

please we are looking for your help , we want to do the same yellow chromate coating , but in what the tank is supposed made of .

A. PVC-lined steel is good. Solid polypropylene or stainless steel should be okay too. Proper grades of fiberglass (vinyl ester resin) should be good as well.

Q. Please we are going to set new plant , but we do not know what material to use :
1- hexavalent chromium 65% @ 90 c .
2- caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on Amazon [affil link] 10% @ 82 c .
3- nitric acid - room temperature .
