Pickling and degreasing of stainless steels
I am a heat treatment manager.
what is the procedure of pickling and degreasing of austenitic stainless steels such as 1.4563(Cr=26% , Ni=32% , C=max0.03%)
heat treatment - Esfahan, Sander, Ireland

Degrease prior to heat treatment.
Heat treat in vacuum furnace with pressurized, inert gas quenching.
No pickling necessary.
Passivate.

Just curious. What kind of heat treatment are you going to do to an austenitic stainless steel. As far as I know these alloys cannot be hardened.
