Sn/Pb (60/40)reflow with tin components

2006

Hello.
Some question regarding the solderability with 215 degree C (Sn/PB 60/40) for pure tin plated component.
As I know, pure tin melting point is 232 degree C. How to make it on 215 degree C (Sn/Pb 60/40) with pure tin plating?
Is tin plating with some silver able to solve the problem? Eutectic tin-silver alloy's melting point can goes to 221 Degree C.
Can anyone help me?

Tin/Lead eutectic (actually 62/38) melts at 183C
You should have no problem soldering pure tin components.
Where did you get the 215C from?

Whichever of the temperatures you take to be correct, the soldering is not going to be done at the freezing point of the solder, it's going to be done at something like 50 or 100 degrees above that. Fusion with the tinplate is not a problem provided there is a flux there to ensure that a clean metal surface is presented to the molten solder.
