Repairing Oil Lamp Canisters
Hi. I collect oil lamps and have one that I believe was used as a mooring light. It has a metal canister - not sure of the metal composition - it does have soldered joints. I need to repair some part of it with solder. I have used a torch with limited success; however, I don't have the cleaning good enough yet even though I wire brushed the parts on a grinding wheel. What is recommended for cleaning and what type of solder would you suggest I use?
