Using aluminum for a solvent filled parts cleaning station

I am building a parts cleaning station for automotive type purposes. I would like to build it out of 1/4" plate aluminum for several reasons. Does any one know if the chemicals in some of these solvents will eat away or damage an aluminum parts tub. I have tried to find specifics on the web but haven't yet found any definite answers.

Aluminum can be bad news with some solvents. Which one do you plan to use?

Good afternoon:

If I recall correctly, chlorinated solvents like perchloroethylene aren't compatible with aluminum. But I don't have a clue about other solvents. Your best bet would be to get an MSDS from the person selling you the solvent, then check and see if aluminum and its alloys are compatible with it.

One more item to consider if you're building your own unit, especially if you're using a combustible or flammable solvent: please make sure that your parts cleaner meets local fire codes and NFPA standards.
