Cleaning tarnish from Chrome

I recently bought an old retro 60's chrome table and 6 chairs. Everything is original....except the tarnish on the chrome finish. I want to refurbish them all, but how do I take the tarnish/rust off of the chrome. Can I do this, or would I be better off using a 'chrome' paint?
