Repairing mill finish on aluminum
I use 5058 aluminum sheet for a brake-formed part. Some of the parts have light scratches or rub marks. The end user likes the as-rolled mill finish, and will not allow any repairs. Any ideas how to restore the surface after smoothing out the defects?

Lots of luck. No mechanical corrective action will restore to mill finish. Mass finishing with a dry organic abrasive mix product is close but no cigar, but that will leave it more of a flat dull finish. Something like glass beading without the dimples.
