Electroless nickel plating solution recycling

2006

I am a consultant for a Nickel plating company, who want to find out improvement in plating solution formulation, to increase recycles of solution by adding additives like brighteners, etc. Present solution gives dull finish after 4-5 cycles.
I will welcome suggestions on the subject.
Best regards,

Vijay Kothiwale

First of two simultaneous responses --

Do you honestly think that any company is going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars developing new and better EN and then just give away the formulation. If your customer does not like the life that he gets from home-brew, tell him to buy a proprietary product.

Second of two simultaneous responses --

You'll probably need more than just ask for suggestions, Mr. Kothiwale. What you're asking for is proprietary information. Commercial perfected chemistries are the answer.

I guess you are referring to the number of turn-overs.

Check the extent of build of oxidation products in the plating bath. Remove them from the bath and re-adjust the concentration of the constituents.
