Buying chrome or stainless steel heated towel rails
Hi, my name is Liz Biec.
We are renovating our bathroom and I have seen an advert for a stainless steel heated towel rail. It says they are better quality than chrome, and will not rust or mark like chrome. Is this true? Do they have the same durability? I have looked everywhere for some product information on this, but no one can tell me the advantages/disadvantages of both.
Hope this isn't a silly question to you.
Kind regards
Liz

It's not the least bit silly, but opinions will vary. The chrome plating will look better but probably not last as long. Truly high quality chrome is a great finish (witness truck bumpers) but lower quality chrome plating can be a very poor finish and it's hard to know which you'll get.
