Paint removal on chrome rims

I have a set of chrome rims that have been painted and would like to know how to remove the paint without damaging the chrome ? The paint has started to chip and I would like to go back to just chrome. Also the centers have been painted and I believe they are made of plastic? they were also chromed before painted and I would like to take them back to chrome. Thanks: D

A strong solvent, the sooner the better, Bob -- you could try turpentine this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] but might need Aircraft Stripper. David's problem is trickier as it's hard to say whether a particular solvent will attack the plastic centers.
