Will water passing through copper stain stainless steel?
I'm fabricating a water feature out of stainless steel. There is a channel in the frame to carry a water pipe inside the structure. If this pipe was copper and it was primed on the outside, do you think the water passing thru it could carry enough copper traces to be a problem as it drips over the stainless?

My water pipes are copper and leave no copper stains on my white sinks. That's as close to an answer as I can give, Chris.

Chris,
You said WATER but didn't say what type of WATER ... if it's seawater, yes, you'll get some stains ... if ordinary water less any 'salt', probably not.
If the stainless is 3l6 or 3l6 L, then that's better than 304 or 400 series. But if 3l6, don't weld with 304 or 400 series weld rods.
