Screen printing on silver or gold

2006

I am searching for the most appropriate method to (silk screen) print on silver or gold for a project I am developing. The printing needs to be totally scratch proof, light fast, and permanent, hence I would need to know both the best method, medium (inks) and substrate treatment in order to obtain best results.
Please note that I don't mean hot foil transfer. There was an article (letter no. 25612) published on your website regarding this matter but is not made public (I couldn't view it). I would really appreciate valid input which I haven't been able to obtain from other websites.
Thanks in advance.

2006

Dear sir,
I have tried to view the letter but in vain. As you mentioned, it may not be relevant. I would really appreciate it if you could provide me with an answer regarding my inquiry (how to print using silk screen on gold or silver). As I stated in my first letter, I need it to be scratch proof and very durable. Is there a certain treatment (varnish or some sort of top coat) which can be used on the gold/silver prior or after the printing in order to obtain best results?
Thanks again.

We can only personally contribute on subjects we know something about, and can't advise you on your topic; all we can do is post the inquiry, and wait & see if anyone responds. But we remain baffled by your inability to view letter 25612. All you should need to do to click on any of the mentions of it on this page as each such mention is hotlinked directly to it.
