Remove Antique Finish from Class Ring
Q. My white gold class ring has an antique finish. I want to remove the antique finish so as to obtain a natural white gold finish. Is soaking the ring in acetone ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] Warning! highly Flammable! the best method for achieving this? Two jewelers have told me to use Acetone, but a class ring manufacturer told me the acetone could damage/discolor the gold ring - but they just may have said that because they want you to purchase a new ring from them.

A. I've had good luck with a toothbrush and baking soda toothpaste. It's mildly abrasive and no harsh chemicals in it.
