Aluminum dyes
2006
Hi Guys:
Has anybody came across an aluminum dye that they are happy with ? We are making the move to trivalent and away from yellow - but would like a little more color change than the blues seem to give us. Also is there a problem sealing the dyes after application.
Thanks

U.S. Specialty Color has dyes for chromated aluminum in reds, green, orange, violet, blue & black. Don't know how well they work with trivalent coatings, but MIL-DTL-81706B-A1 allows higher temperatures for trivalent Cr (Type II) coatings than for hex.Cr, so better sealing should be possible. Check with the mfr.
