Mils of plating
I received a plating thickness of 0.01mu from my vendor in China and need to translate into U.S. mils of plating.

µ is the lower case greek letter "mu", Ana, which is used as an abbreviation for "micro" or millionth. So .01 mu ought to mean .01 millionths of a meter, which is .394 millionths of an inch, which is .000394 thousands of an inch, which is .000394 mil.
But this is such a ludicrously thin plating that I guarantee that there is a mistake in communication. Hope the value of your own time on these translation efforts was factored in when calculating the cost savings of Chinese manufacture :-)
