Gold plated slip rings

2006

Is someone familiar with gold plated slip rings?
The plating should withstand the constant rubbing of 80%silver, 20% graphite contacts.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Is you interest just intellectual, or are you trying to buy new rings or fix the ones you alrerady have? For friction and spark resistance, platinum is better than gold and not too much more expensive. Both metals are routinely plated by dedicated companies, either by immersion or brush. Both require an underplate or initial strike of a different metal before plating, depending on the substrate.

I want to reduce cost by replacing coin silver rings whenever possible.
