Surface Treatments of Titanium to Improve Adhesion

I am a Student Engineer working for Cochlear.
We have chosen a platinum cure silicone adhesive for priming the titanium surface of the implant, however difficulty has been experienced in achieving consistent adhesion results on test samples.
I require possible titanium surface preparation techniques for improving adhesion properties. To present preparation has only involved cleaning in degreaser or an
acetone

bath plus an ethanol wipe. Treatment must minimally affect the dimensions of the titanium. If anyone can give some information on this it would be greatly appreciated.
