Silver from x-rays
I would like to know if there is information about the recovery of silver from X-ray film.
I own a security shredding business and shred large amounts of x-rays each week. I have heard that it is possible to collect silver from these films.
any information would be greatly appreciated

Ed. note: You may want to see Kodak's booklet "Recovering Silver from Photographic Materials". Letter 3910 urge extreme caution with this idea, and imply that you should find a service that does it rather than try it yourself.
If a large amount is truckloads, it could be profitable to set up an operation. If it is a few boxes per day, see if you can not find somebody to sell it to. The penalty for an "OOPS" is extremely significant.
