ZINC PRESSURE DIE CASTINGS( ZAMAK ) FOR DRINKING WATER APPLICATIONS

I AM WONDERING IF A ZINC ALLOY SUCH AS ZAMAK #3 ALLOY COULD BE USED AS A VALVE FOR DRINKING WATER PURPOSES, AND IF ANY PLATING IS NECESSARY ?
