Related powder coating application fault




1.Some times during phosphating and chromating observed bluish patches on the object what is this? Is it harmful for the object?
2.At what temp. color of epoxy polyester powder will change?
3.How can cover the corner areas in Junction boxes type object in powder coating application?

Sanjay,
1) Phosphate should have blue or gold color after application all of the time, not just some of the time.
2) Light colored epoxy paints overbake very easily, it's not always the temperature, sometimes it's the duration in the oven. Follow the manufacturers technical data sheet for time in the oven and temp settings.
3) Powder doesn't cover corners very well, you have to experiment with different gun tips and kV settings to find out what works best for your situation. Another alternative is spraying the corners with an aerosol match to the powder after the parts are cured.

Suggest you to use Pulse charging Powder gun, This gun will solve your problem in corner coating,to hide back ground you have to coat at least 65 microns of powder coating.The polymerization chamber temperature must not be more then 190 °C
