Straightening bent "Chromoly" components
"4130 Chromoly" is used extensively throughout the ATV industry for high strength components such as A-arms and even ATV frames. These are expensive to purchase and hence my need to know how to straighten up a bent component. I bent an A-arm recently during a race and would not like to spend a bunch of money on a new set. Will one first have to anneal the A-arm and then heat treat again after it has been straightened?
