Possible to sand chrome to get brushed look?
Hi there, I just bought a new Harley and I hate the look of chrome! Is it possible for me to sand the chrome with with either sandpaper or scotch-brite pad to get a matt brushed look?

Unfortunately not, Dean. The 'chrome' is actually nickel plating of several thousandths thick followed by chrome plating measured in the millionths. You'll remove the chrome and lose the corrosion resistance. But if you want to risk that, you can get down to nickel plating, which will tarnish a "yellowish" color that you may find more pleasing.
