Can Anodizing Handle Exhaust Temperatures?

I intend having the aluminium silencers on a competition car anodised, preferably black. Is there a difference in the temperature that different colours can handle.
What temperature can anodising handle for prolonged periods.

I seriously doubt they are made of aluminum. Maybe aluminized steel. In any way, I think it's better to leave them as they are.
