Aluminium coatings

Dear Sir

I wanted to know the coating on the aluminium which helps us to make it thermally more efficient and corrosion resistance these two properties should be included in the same coating because we are dealing with semiconductors which are dissipating heat.

Anodizing is often used on heat-sinks and may be what you are looking for. The coating is non-conductive and very corrosion resistant.

Electroless nickel though not as conductive as aluminum in thin layers gives a good combination of heat transfer an corrosion resistance.

As stated, only gold, platinum family and possibly silver will comply.

Anodizing seems to be best option for this application.

EN may be the best option if you are working with Al Extrusions, and anodising if the Aluminium is Cast.

Anodizing will make the aluminum less thermally efficient. It is a relative amount that is easily overcome by a slightly greater surface area.
Everything is relative, so what is wrong with looking at chem film? It is more corrosion resistant than plain aluminum, but not as much as anodize and certainly not in the EN category.
