Chrome-Nitride vs. Chrome Carbo-Nitride

I am looking to have a part coated with Chrome Carbo-Nitride. I have tested Chrome-Nitride, and it meets my specifications, except for cosmetics. The part cannot be a shiny silver. I would like to use Chrome Carbo-Nitride as an alternative.

Should I expect to see a performance difference (mainly temperature resistance and wear resistance related) between the Chrome Carbo-Nitride and the Chrome Nitride?

It depends on the amount of carbon in the coating. A small amount should increase the coating hardness. Too much and the coating becomes too brittle. Try a base of CrN with just a top layer of CrCN.
