Removing polymer release agent

1999

We are using structural high density foam to pour in Epoxy mold.

But prior of Pouring we spray the mold with Polymer base release agent and then applying the Polyester Gel coat by means of spray, then we pour the material into the mold in order we can have a post finished molded part.

The problem we are having is getting rid of the release agent which was applied in the mold prior of the pouring. We solved a problem but we are stuck with another one, which we are having hard time in getting adhesion between the material and the paint.

I am looking to use a type of a release agent which will not create problems in painting the produced parts.

Dear Sirs,

We are looking for Green Case Outside Paint( Outside Release agent) in Tire making processing like Goodyear, Michelin,Yokohama Tire Factory. Can you help us find this product ? Please let us know manufacturers of Tire outside release agent. Composition : Green Case Outside Paint( Release agent ) Blend of Binder and Fillers Modified Special Additives. Application: During the curing of green case,it enhances air permeability, decreases bare of tire. Because of water-based type, no more danger of fire exist, different from solvent-based type

Yours very truly,

Although Green Outside tire paints, to avoid tires adhesion to the mold, promote slip between green tire and mold during bladder expansion allowing air bleeding, and then, release after curing cycle, are proprietary formulations, several leading companies produce them I will mention a few names, it is up to you to trace them to contact them:
- Chem Trend (US)
- Rhein Chemie (Germany)
- Yongjin (Korea)
- Darmex (Argentina)

Good luck. I understand that all of them offer product in South East Asia.

The best mold release agent for different rubber compounds is Dupont TraSys Release Agent, based on product evaluation and field trials.

Hi, Russ. Thanks. Please tell B.J. what kind of paint you applied to your rubber compounds, and what process you used to remove the mold release, when your shop determined that the Dupont product solved the paint adhesion problem; it's not immediately clear to me how this product fixes his problem. Thanks again.
