Methods of metal plating on transparent plastic
Q. I need information on the best method to put a very thin metal coating on transparent plastic in order for light to shine through the plastic from the inside, but still keeping the shiny chrome-like look on the outside (like a mirror if possible)
Also what would be the best plastic to use with the metal plating technique which would best fit?
Thanking you

A. One-way mirrors ("half silvered mirrors") are explained at science.howstuffworks.com/question421.htm, Leon. I think "two-part silvering" is a more promising technology for this than electroplating.

Q. We would like to know which type of transparent thermoplastic material is suitable for rack electroplating.
Is PETG, SMMA suitable for rack electroplating?
Thank you
