How to remove PVC glue from hair and body

I need to know if anyone out there knows how to help me out. My husband was using the glue on an overhead project and the glue spilled. It covered a good portion of his head and ran down his back etc. Does anyone know how to remove it from his hair? We tried just cutting the hair but it actually glued the hair to the scalp in one large area. Please help.
