How to achieve 300 hr Salt Spray Resistance using 3 in 1 phosphating solution
1 phosphating solution by wiping process rather than using 7 tank process on Cold Rolled Mild Steel components? What would be the alternate suggestions since we could not set-up 7 tank pretreatment facility due to Pollution Control Board's restriction as our Factory is located nearer to a drinking water Lake? Is it possible to achieve 300 hr Salt Spray Resistance using 3 in
2006
Yes, can use at least a 3-4 stage dipping process. Use a cleaner coater (Iron Phosphate- Prep N Cote 309 LT, Bonderite 1073 or Parco Coater 3540 Henkel product) working at 40-60 degree C, 2-5 minutes dipping time, pH 5-5.5 to avoid flash rusting. The key to any pre-treatment is cleaning, make sure that substrate is water break free after the first rinse if not wipe the substrate with solvent before cleaner coater iron phosphate or you can add an extra surfactant additive (Synergic CA-Henkel Product)
Process:
1.Cleaner Coater - 2.Rinse - 3.Hot Water Rinse or Acidulated Rinse
