Tin sheets for steel deck

-----

Is it possible to use tin sheets as a steel deck? how will I protect the tin from corrosion if it will be used for structural purposes such as steel deck?

Terms like "tin" have literal meanings and they have colloquial meanings, and this unfortunately produces confusion.

Tin is an element, a metallic element, and you can buy tin sheets. But tin is too soft for structural use, so I doubt that you are really talking about tin sheet.

Steel sheets can be coated or plated with tin, and people also call this tin plate or tin sheet or just "tin". This would have structural integrity but poor corrosion resistance; it could be painted or clear coated.

Steel sheets can also be dipped in molten zinc. This process is called galvanizing and will give a product with both structural integrity and corrosion resistance that doesn't need painting. As the son of a plumber/roofer, I can assure you that some people and some whole trades unfortunately call galvanized steel sheet "tin". Whether you have galvanized steel sheet or tin plated steel sheet is hard to tell from this distance.
