Removing a cement tile with colour layer from chrome plated moulds

We are manufacturing cement based tile having a colour / design layer which is mix of oxides and cement. At present we are pouring this colour mix on glass and then the cement mortar . the whole process is manual . it is kept one day for drying and then 48 hrs dipped curing is done. The tiles comes out of the glass a good 5 days after the curing process. We get glossy finish and no further polishing is required. We want to introduce chrome plated moulds in place of glass and also do the pressing using a hydraulic press to get more strength. The question is how to remove the tile from the mould immediately after pressing is over without effecting the colour / design surface finish ?

We Chrome plate plastic moulding dies without any issue of release; try applying a thin layer of clear oil or spray NC lacquer on your die if your cement tile is not coming off. Even powdering the die with dry plaster of paris may help as it won't stick to the cement. Plastic moulding chappies use a readily available release agent; may be worth looking at.

all the best;
