RoHS testing for Cr6 under paint

Does anyone know of a procedure for preparation of RoHS testing Cr6 when it is under 2 layers of paint? The primer may contain Cr6 and the passivation layer as well. By the letter of the law we need to separate these into their own homogeneous materials to determine if the maximum concentration values have been exceeded. The paint layers are 5 to 10 µm thick.

Many Thanks

Wouldn't it be much easier (and cost effective) to get unpainted samples from your suppliers?

Otherwise you'll have to strip the paint - and both mechanical means and chemical might effect your final readings.

Good luck!
