Insulation resistance in zinc plated olive green passivation in comparison with zinc plated yellow passivation

I am padmanabhan working in Pricol limited coimbatore, India manufacture's of automobile components for major OEM customer.

Subject : Direct Earthing to be taken from olive green passivated component.

We have chosen Zinc plated olive green passivation instead of Zinc plated yellow passivation for better corrosion resistance property.

Hence please give your suggestion whether olive green passivated component can be used for direct earthing?.If possible what is the insulation resistance in comparison with zinc plated yellow passivation where we are using direct earthing.

We will be grateful if you could send the valuable suggestion at the earliest.

Why not test the conductivity of both the strips? You will find hardly any difference.

Probably the reason why your earthing strips are corroding is because you use zinc plated metal strips as earthing conductors and they will be subject to galvanic and or bimetallic corrosion very quickly.

It would be useful to look at Nickel or Tin plating as an alternative instead.
