Surface pitting on chrome plated PC/ABS
2006
Hello All,
We are the manufacturers of platable grade of PC/ABS. We tried molding our PC/ABS last week. The surface of the molded part did not have any pits on it. Upon chrome plating the part, the pitting showed up on the surface. The chrome adhesion was very good. Do we need to change the resin formulation? Are we having more butadiene in our formulation than what is required? Or is it just as simple as adjusting the etch bath concentration? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
