Reduction of lead impurities in lead-free plating solution

2006

Dear expert,
We experience high concentration of lead (Pb) on our lead free plating solution,
I'd like to know some technique how to reduce this impurities, what process?
Can you define step by step procedure how to reduce lead impurities?

Your plating bath supplier may have a chemical procedure for precipitating lead from your current plating solution. In the meantime you could dummy plate the bath at 2 amps per square ft for an hour or two per day until the Pb drops to a point of tolerance. Low current density dummy plating favors deposition of minority or trace metals. Good luck!
