Nickel Stripping from Brass Material

2006

We are Metal Flexible Hoses Manufacturers in Pakistan. We have our own electroplating facility. Currently we are facing problem for stripping nickel from these flexible hoses. The material of flexible hose is Brass and the thickness is 0.185 MM.

We have tried several commercial products but all of them destroy the surface of the metal after stripping and the ones which work are very expensive.

So we want to know if there is any cheaper solution for stripping Nickel from brass without any etching or damage to the base metal.

your response and reply will highly be appreciated.

We have had pretty good success with the Brass Strip called B-929 available from a Company called Allstar Chemical.

Hi Kanwar,

Actually I did not know the solution for your query, but I would like to know some details from your side, because am using nickel plated brass washer, now I am planing to change this present washer to En2 material with zinc plating for the sake of cost reduction.

So can any one tell me that proposed process is equivalent with present process.

thank you
