What is proper method for finishing Cast iron surfaces in two pack PU [pre-treated with sand blasting]
2006
WE are based at Rajasthan[a dry weather state] in INDIA . We are producing cast iron items for ornamental purposes.[ Poles, bollards, etc.] We are at present using standard two pack PU products avialable in the market for finishing our products with spray gun. What should be the correct method so that we get a durable and proper finish ? Our method at present involves :
Thin coat of Zn-Ph primer then cutting and filling with Al.oxide paper and PU pottin. After this second coat of Zn-Ph Primer. Thin coat of paint and then if required we cut it and again spray one coat
,before final coat is applied.

Mr. Dakshini,
Are you having a quality problem? I don't find anything wrong with your application method. Do you feel that you may be taking unecessary steps that could be eliminated to save cost?
