Hard materials with little wear resistance

I am looking for a material, that has VERY good wear resistance & something that would not effect an eddy current (no carbon). My application is I have two pieces of brass right now, set in a "V" shape, 120* angle, that has fasteners running down them all day, with laser checking for length, thread pitch, diameter etc. etc. Problem is, the brass is wearing out way to fast, and I need to know what my options are as far as possible materials. We had some brass track coated with an armor clad coating but have yet to test them. We may also explore titanium, but that will be incrdibly expensive. Ceramics have entered the talks, but we have had no luck finding vendors that can give us a decent answer to our question. So if there is anything any of you know of as far as materials, coatings, materials & coatings or whatever, that would be great.

Thanks,

Off the top of my head...

1] Hard anodized aluminum with teflon impregnation

2] Electroless nickel on brass with teflon impregnation

3] hard chrome on brass

4] arc or plasma sprayed aluminum, then ground.

You should look into Ni3b ( Nickel Boron ). I think it can give you what you want.

WHAT IS PREVENTING YOUR TRYING THE BRASS TRACK WITH THE ARMOR CLAD COATING?
THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER FINISH FOR BRASS MADE BY G.J. Nikolas [a finishing.com supporting advertiser] THAT HOLDS UP UNDER WATER USED AROUND WATER FOUNTAINS. NOT MANY THINGS WILL GIVE YOU BETTER RESULTS THAN BRASS. AND WITH THE FINISHES AVAILABLE THESE DAYS, THAT'S ABOUT AS DURABLE AS ANYTHING GETS. BRASS HAS BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES BECAUSE OF ITS DURABILITY.
