Nickel plating of inner diameter
I need to nickel plate inner cylindric surface, diameter 70 mm depth 150 mm thickness 0,300 mm in sulfamate nickel solution. But I do not know what nickel anode would be appropriate? What is the optimum distance between anode and the surface to be plated. What kind of complications can appear in nickel plating of inner diameters. I would appreciate any helpful information.

Vesna,
The best way it to use a platinum anode in protection with anode sheet the anode can be 0,3 mm thats if enough. If you use a current density approximately 2A/dm2. With this the nickel layer will be a little harder but you save a lots of machine works.

Dear Vesna!
the diameter is not important as long as the solution can circulate and the nickel in your anode is enough to build up.
the important thing in sulphamate nickel is the adhesion problem ,so you need to apply around half to one volt before you immerse you part
,and keep that voltage fo couple minutes till the part get to bath temp, after increase the amps slowly to around 40-70 or so amps per foot.
good luck and God bless /hope this will help.
