LOOKING FOR THE PLATING CO. WHO DOES A BLACK OXIDE FINISH ON PEN CLIPS AS A DECORATIVE FINISH. SEEN YOUR FINISHED PARTS AND HAVE CUSTOMERS WHO SHOW GREAT INTEREST IN THIS PRODUCT. PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU ARE THAT PLATER OR BELIEVE YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE THIS FINISH.

Are you sure it is black oxide and not black nickel? I have many customers that run pen clips , and all are heavy bright nickel deposit... It wouldn't be a far jump for a company to plate black nickel on these..... hope this helps ,

Dear Mr.Dupuis,

Mr.Landrette is right,one solution for your pen clips is a "black nickel plating" over bright nickel, obtained from nickel baths with additions of zinc and sulfur.But the grey-black deposits obtained in this way do not resist to corrosion and rubbing and must be lacquered with a clear solvent lacquer. Another and better solution is to apply, over bright nickel, a tin-nickel "gray-anthracite" alloy which is very decorative and corrosion and wear resistant.
