The Influence of Nickel Plating Treatments (like Kanigen) in The Fatigue Life of Steel
I'm concerned about the influence of nickel plating treatments with interdiffusion (like Kanigen) in the fatigue life of AISI 1020 steel and AISI 4130 normalized steel. Does the fact that the increased hardness due to this treatment turns the referred steels more prone to fatigue crack initiation or does it induce enough superficial compressive stress to reduce this propensity? If there is somebody who has knowledge of public domain fatigue life data about this subject or is interested in the subject I would be grateful to make contact.

I am looking for the same information. Were you successful in finding out anything?
