How to re-copper old cabinet latches
I am restoring an old farm house, and the cabinet latches were once copper. They need to be refinished. I've tried cleaning them with copper cleaner and a Dremel, but mostly I just rub off the copper layer. Is copper coating something I can do at home, or does a professional need to do this? If so, where do I look to find a pro?

You can buy copper colored paint for under $5 that is reflective and may be good enough, but may be too "gritty" looking for realism. Real copper electroplating needs to be done by a plating shop. Many are listed in our Jobshops directory, and some may be in your local yellow pages.
