Using Tremclad in a spray gun?

2006

Hi,
I was wondering what do I have to mix with say a gallon of Tremclad paint so I can spray it with my spray gun. I know it seems funny but I want to paint a race car and don't want to buy an expensive auto paint such a 100$ a gallon if I'm going to be fender rubbing around a track. What are my options for getting a dirt cheap paint job on my race car and using my air compressor [adv: air compressors on eBay or Amazon [affil links] and my spray gun?
Thanks if you can help!

Viscosity is the name of the game, I don't know what Tremclad is, or what kind of gun you have, but I can make a guess that if you thin the paint enough you should be able to spray it through the gun. All you have to do is figure out what kind of reducer to use and experiment with it to get the right viscosity e.g. 2 to 1 paint, 3 to 1 paint, 4 to 1 paint until it sprays the way you want it to.
